Gold Star Bullion Security Company About GSBS
About GSBS
A London firm that keeps metal safe and moves it when you want it moved.
The firm
Gold Star Bullion Security has traded from London since 2003. We do two related things: we hold precious metals and other valuables in vaults, and we move consignments across borders by air and sea, including the packing, the documents and the customs clearance at both ends.
Those two halves are the same business. Metal that has to be somewhere else is a freight problem, and freight that is carrying metal is a custody problem. Firms that only do one hand the other to a stranger at the worst possible moment.
How we work
Everything is recorded at the level of the individual thing. A consignment is a list of pieces, not a weight. A storage account is a list of bars with serial numbers, not a balance. That makes the paperwork longer and the conversations shorter.
Every entry on a ledger or a tracking record was made by a named operator at a recorded time. Nothing appears on a client's record automatically, and nothing is edited after the fact. Corrections are made as reversing entries, so the original stays visible.
What we handle
- Bullion in bar, ingot, coin and grain, and the assay documentation that goes with it.
- Jewellery, precious and semi-precious stones, and watches.
- Deeds, certificates and documents of title.
- General commercial cargo, personal effects and vehicles, full and part loads.
What we will not do
We do not take instructions to release a client's property by telephone. We do not charge a fee to unlock, clear or insure metal a client already owns. We do not publish a membership, licence, insurer or accreditation that we cannot evidence on paper. That is why several of the fields on this site are blank rather than filled in.
Governance
The firm is directed by a board with a majority of non-executive members, so no single person controls both the instruction and its execution. Storage instructions require two signatures. Vault access operates on a two-person rule.
The corporate governance code the firm reports against, and the identity of its directors, are published on request and are listed as outstanding on this site until the documents are supplied.
