Gold Star Bullion Security Sea freight
Sea freight
Shared and dedicated containers, with collection and delivery arranged at both ends.
Full loads and part loads
A full container load is yours alone, sealed at collection. A part load shares a container with other consignments and is consolidated at the depot, which is cheaper and slower. Both are hand-loaded case by case rather than tipped in, and both are manifested piece by piece.
What it costs
Shipping lines charge on the greater of weight and cubic measure. A dense consignment pays on its tonnage; a bulky one pays on the space it takes up.
| Container | Pallets | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| 20 ft standard | ~22 | ~30 m³ |
| 40 ft standard | ~45 | ~60 m³ |
| 40 ft high cube | ~50 | ~65 m³ |
Documents we need
- A packing list per consignment, itemised, with weights and cubic measure.
- A commercial invoice for commercial shipments.
- Advance notice of hazardous goods, before the container is stuffed.
- For bullion, the piece-level schedule: refiner, serial, fineness, gross and fine weight.
Insurance
Marine cargo insurance is recommended on every sailing and arranged on request. Carrier liability under the bill of lading is limited and is not a substitute for cover.
